JEE Main 2024 Result (FAQs)

Q1. How can I retrieve my JEE Main application number if I forgot it?

Ans. If you have forgotten your JEE Main application number, you can find it on your admit card. Alternatively, you can check your email inbox, as NTA sends details such as application number, password, and other candidate information to the registered email ID.

Q2. Under what circumstances could my JEE Main result be cancelled?

Ans. According to the information brochure released by NTA, your JEE Main result could be cancelled or withheld if you engage in unfair practices, take the exam from a different center than the one allotted, or allow someone else to write the exam on your behalf.

Q3. What is the tie-breaking rule in JEE Main Result?

Ans. If two or more candidates obtain the same percentile scores, NTA uses certain criteria to resolve the tie. For Paper 1 (BE/B.Tech), candidates with a higher score in Mathematics are ranked higher. If the tie persists, marks in Physics and Chemistry are compared. Similar procedures apply to Paper 2A and 2B.

Q4. Is there a difference between JEE Main result and scorecard?

Ans. No, JEE Main result and scorecard refer to the same thing. After logging in to the website to check your JEE Main result, you will see your scorecard, which includes details of percentile scores, All India Rank, and cutoff. It is essential to download and print your scorecard for the counseling and admission process.

Q5. What does CRL mean in JEE Main result?

Ans. CRL stands for Common Rank List, which is essentially the cutoff for the unreserved category. Candidates from the unreserved category need to meet or exceed the CRL cutoff. Additionally, cutoffs are released for other categories such as Gen-EWS, Open-PwD, OBC-NCL, SC, and ST.

Q6. Can I request a re-evaluation of my JEE Main result?

Ans. No, NTA does not entertain requests for rechecking or re-evaluation of JEE Main results. However, candidates can raise objections to the answer key before the results are announced. The final answer key is used to calculate the JEE Main result.

Q7. How do I know if I am qualified for the JEE Advanced exam?

Ans. You can check the JEE Main cutoff mentioned on your scorecard to see if you have obtained an aggregate percentile score equal to or above the cutoff. Only candidates who meet or exceed the cutoff are eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced exam.

Q8. Will session-wise scores be provided separately in the JEE Main scorecard?

Ans. Yes, the JEE Main scorecard will display session-wise score details for all the sessions you appeared in. Your best score among all sessions will be highlighted separately, and your All India Rank will be based on this best score.

Q9. Is the NTA percentile score the same as percentage?

Ans. No, the NTA percentile score and percentage are not the same. Percentage is a number out of 100, whereas the percentile score is based on the relative performance of all candidates appearing in the exam.

Q10. In what mode will NTA declare the JEE Main result?

Ans. NTA declared the JEE Main result only in online mode. Candidates need to visit the official NTA JEE Main website to check their results.
