As per the reports from BCCI sources, IPL Governing Council is planning to hold IPL 2024 in India. However, when general elections were held in the year 2009 and 2014, the entire IPL tournament was shifted to South Africa. Whereas in the year 2014, the first half of IPL was held in UAE.

But according to the source, despite the general elections being held this year, the entire IPL season 17 will be held in India only. All Indian spectators also want the IPL to be held in India so that they can enjoy the matches played by the teams here in home and away format.
